Question 1: is the firing temperature of white clay the same as that of red clay?
A: at present, there are two kinds of raw materials for Jianshui purple pottery: red clay prepared by colorful mud and white clay prepared by lime soil.
The sintering temperature of purple pottery is not a fixed and accurate number, but a temperature range, most of which can be sintered at 1100 ℃ ~ 1180 ℃.
However, due to different clay properties, the high temperature resistance of white clay and red clay is slightly different. Generally, white clay is more resistant to high temperature than red clay, and the risk of damage is relatively small when burning.
Question 2: what repair methods are there when Jianshui purple pottery is broken?
A: in the actual use of Jianshui purple pottery works, it is often accidentally damaged. A little bit lighter, a little more serious, broken into pieces.
At present, there are two commonly used methods to repair, one is curium repair, mainly for the broken into several pieces; the other is gold repair, which is applicable to both fragmentation and gap.
It is worth mentioning that the highly skilled ceramic repairer can bring new life to a broken and damaged work, even give the original works no artistic charm.
Question 3: what is the specific production process of purple pottery pot? How long will it take?
Answer: using the ready-made clay which has been refined, the process is as follows: casting molding, rough trimming, calligraphy and painting decoration, engraving, mud filling, finishing (with pot cover), bonding spout and handle, fine care, placing and drying, firing in kiln, glandless polishing, selection and sorting.
This is a continuous process, but it is not a day after day production. After the completion of some processes, the ceramic tiles need to be placed in the air to a suitable dry humidity before the next process.
Most of the above processes are general, and there are several small processes under each process, such as mud filling process including color mud production, mud spreading, mud pressing and scraping; the bonding process includes drilling water holes, rubbing the handle, pulling out the spout, correcting, adding mud, etc.
Normally, it takes more than 30 days to make a batch of purple pottery pots, and the time varies with the seasons.
It should also be noted that this is the time required for the production of the refined mud. If the time is calculated from the collection, preparation and aging of the mud, the time will be longer。
