Jianshui white clay pottery has appeared a long time ago, such as the white pipe we can see now, but compared with purple pottery, the number of white clay pottery was still less. In recent years, the number of white clay pottery has increased greatly, especially after the emergence of color filling decoration technology.
One of the important reasons is that the color filling decoration, especially the multi color decoration works, is often rich in color and vivid in the picture. This type of decorative effect in white works will have a stronger visual impact, can attract the eye of the viewer in a glance.
White pottery is like white paper. Calligraphers and painters can better interpret their decorative intentions on the white pottery surface. Therefore, when we want to make exquisite color filling works, many craftsmen tend to use white pottery, and the final decoration effect is really more conspicuous.
In addition, a large number of Taoyou (consumers) also like to buy white works, especially tea cups. White gives people the feeling of pure, noble, and has a certain artistic conception. The other reason why the color of the tea cup is not satisfied is that it is convenient to observe the tea cup.
However, the white pottery in Jianshui pottery still has its own shortcomings. Take the teapot as an example. If the cooking temperature is not enough, the dark tea soup is easy to soak into the pot when brewing Pu’er ripe tea. In a short time, the teapot will change from a pure white “clean clothes school” to a “dirty clothes school”.
The sintering temperature of Jianshui white clay is generally higher than that of red clay, so white clay works and red clay works are fired separately. If the qualified sintering temperature is not reached, the green body density is relatively low, and the dark tea soup is easy to dye the whole pot body.
In the past, there was no accurate thermometer, so the kiln workers had to rely on their long-term accumulated experience in judging the temperature to make a good kiln. But for most Taoyou, it is difficult to judge accurately. So the best way is to test it by making tea. If the outside of the pot is soaked, it is likely that the temperature is not enough.
White clay pottery also has another drawback: tea stains pile up, difficult to clean.
In fact, no matter what color of pottery, used for a long time, there will be more or less tea stains; if you do not pay attention to cleaning, then tea stains will pile up more seriously.
The original white pottery is covered with dark yellow tea stains, which is of course uncomfortable. Therefore, the best way is to clean all the tea utensils in time on the same day after drinking tea; and the best way is to clean all the tea sets with the help of some small skills when it is really difficult to clean.
