说起全手工制作的紫陶壶,很多朋友的注意力大多集中在拉坯成型那一步。因为将一块普普通通的泥巴经过双手拉制成各种各样的造型,对于初次见到的朋友来说,显得十分有趣,并且最为常见。久而久之,印象中关于手工制陶的第一个画面,就是拉坯那一步。

对于一把紫陶壶的诞生来说,拉坯成型固然十分重要,但其他步骤并不比拉坯显得简单,粘接就是这样。在大众的印象中很少被提及,但却是关键又艰难的一步。

I’ve always wanted to share with you the knowledge about the bonding of purple pottery pots in detail, but I have no materials. 一、一把紫陶壶的制作是一个完整而连贯的过程,各步骤间承上启下,互为兼顾。拉坯之前要做到心中有型,粘接亦然;心中有型之外,严格者还要借助相关的数据。心中有型是经验,数据为凭是经验长期积累总结而来的科学。

1、 The production of a purple pottery pot is a complete and coherent process, and each step is a connecting link between the preceding and the following. Before casting, we should have the shape in mind, so should the bonding. Besides, the strict should also use the relevant data. The mind has the type is the experience, the data is the science which the experience accumulates for a long time.

二、取出粘接所用泥料,不断在双手中拍打若干次,成条状,切成数段备用。这里并不是说需要粘接几个部位就切成几段,而应该多切出几段,因为粘接过程中需要脂泥和补泥。一把石瓢壶需要粘接三个部位:壶嘴、壶把、桥形壶钮,就需要切五六段泥备用:其中三段制作三个粘接部件,剩下几段作为脂泥、补泥等备用。为什么要用同一条泥巴?一是为了更好的粘接融合,二是为了烧制后粘接部位与壶整体颜色一致。

2、 Take out the mud used for bonding, beat it in both hands for several times, form a strip and cut into several sections for standby. This is not to say that several parts need to be cut into several sections, but more sections should be cut out, because the process of bonding requires grease and cement. A stone ladle pot needs to be bonded to three parts: the spout, the handle, and the bridge shaped knob. It is necessary to cut five or six sections of mud for spare use: three sections are used to make three bonding parts, and the remaining sections are used as putty and mending. Why use the same mud? One is for better bonding and fusion, the other is to make the bonding part consistent with the overall color of the pot after firing.

三、在干净的工作台上分别搓出壶嘴、壶把和壶钮的雏形。搓得或粗或细,切得或长或短,全凭匠人的经验。搓壶嘴壶把非常讲究当时的心境,眼到手到心到、心手合一才能做出理想的样子。同时,一把壶做出来是纤巧还是憨拙,壶嘴壶把的粗细起了关键的作用。嘴把搓得细,且左右搭配协调,一把壶呈现纤巧之姿,反之,则是憨拙之态。

3、 On a clean workbench, rub out the rudiments of the spout, handle and button. It’s up to the craftsman’s experience to make it thick or thin, to cut it long or short. Rubbing the spout and handle of the pot is very particular about the mood at that time. The ideal appearance can only be made by eye to hand and heart to hand integration. At the same time, whether a pot is delicate or unsophisticated, the thickness of the spout and handle plays a key role. The handlebar of the mouth is rubbed thin, and the left and right match harmoniously. A pot presents a delicate posture, otherwise, it is simple and unsophisticated.

四、手工搓成粘接部件,损坏率、不合格率都比较高。因此,对于私人订制一把壶的情况,一般会每个部件搓两件作为备份。实际上,粘接也不是一气呵成,每一个步骤之间都需要间隔一段时间,或是为了达到更好的干湿度,或是为了形成更好的融合……所以部件搓好后需要静置一段时间,后续的每一个步骤完成后,也需要相应的静置。

4、 The damage rate and unqualified rate of the bonding parts by hand are relatively high. Therefore, in the case of a private customized pot, two pieces of each part will be rubbed together as a backup. In fact, bonding is not a one-off process. Each step needs a period of time, either to achieve better dry humidity, or to form a better fusion… Therefore, after the components are rubbed, they need to stand for a period of time. After each subsequent step is completed, the corresponding standing is also required.

五、双手搓出来的部件全凭感觉,达不到标准是常事,所以需要补泥并进一步塑型。以壶嘴为例,石瓢壶嘴由粗而细,粘接处也应该做成与壶身一样的倾斜面;粗细不合格,需要一点一点地刮除多余的泥料,还不能损伤整体。泥料有相当的湿润度,刮除的力量过大,易造成变形,因此粗细的处理往往需要不停刮除无数次。壶把壶钮也需要做相应的塑型。

5、 The parts rubbed by both hands depend on the feeling. It is common that the parts can not meet the standard. Therefore, it is necessary to add mud and further shape. Take the spout as an example. The spout of a stone ladle is thick and thin, and the bonding part should be made into the same inclined plane as the body of the pot. If the thickness is not up to standard, the excess mud should be scraped off bit by bit, and the whole body can not be damaged. The mud has a considerable degree of moisture, scraping force is too large, easy to cause deformation, so the coarse and fine processing often need to wipe off countless times. The handle and button need to be molded accordingly.

六、从壶嘴截面中心开始,一圈一圈掏出泥巴;一头掏到中部,换另一头,直到两头连起来掏成中空。将三个部件抛光打整熨帖,放置于工作台,进行下一步关键的粘接。

6、 Starting from the center of the spout section, take out the mud in a circle; take one end to the middle, and change the other end until the two ends are connected to form a hollow. The three parts will be polished, straightened and ironed, and placed on the workbench for the next key bonding.

七、将壶嘴试装于壶身,不断调整角度,直到与壶身斜面紧贴。借助游标卡尺、粘接校准器等工具,确定壶嘴的粘接位置,并打下记号。

八、用钻孔工具打出水孔,要求排列有序,间隔相同。无论横看竖看还是斜看,出水孔都在一条直线上。并且内外都要用相应的工具打理标准、规正。

九、将壶身粘接部位和壶嘴粘接面都做粗糙处理,以便于更好地粘接融合。涂抹脂泥,粘接壶嘴于壶身之上;借助校准工具,调整壶嘴至理想位置。壶把及壶钮通过同样的方法粘接完成后,观察三个部件是不是在同一条直线上,并借助校准工具调整到位。

9、 Rough treatment was made on the bonding part of the body and the adhesive surface of the spout for better bonding and fusion. Apply grease and paste the spout to the body of the pot; adjust the spout to the desired position with the help of calibration tool. After the handle and button are bonded in the same way, observe whether the three parts are in the same straight line and adjust them in place with the help of calibration tool.

十、我们以前曾介绍过粘接时有明接与暗接两种,暗接往往需要在粘接处进行不同程度的补泥,使得壶嘴壶把及壶钮胥出自然,与壶身浑然一体。搓得不到位,塑型时也没有达到最佳的粗细和倾斜,粘接后就需要大量的补泥。手工补泥需要一圈一圈、一点一点,如此重复若干遍。而且就如我在前面介绍的,每一步完成后,都要静置一段时间,以便于粘接能够更好地融合。一圈泥补完后,需要静置较长的时间,因此补泥虽然不难,但需要耗费大量时间,而且也需要很大的耐心。

10、 We have mentioned before that there are two kinds of bonding: open connection and concealed connection. In order to make the spout, handle and button of the pot naturally, they are integrated with the body of the pot. The rubbing is not in place, and the molding process does not reach the optimal thickness and inclination. After bonding, a large amount of mud is needed. Manual mud mending needs to be done in circles, little by little, and repeated several times. And as I mentioned earlier, after each step is completed, it should be left standing for a period of time, so that the bonding can be better integrated. After a circle of mud is filled, it needs a long time to rest. Therefore, although it is not difficult to make up the mud, it needs a lot of time and patience.

十一、介绍到这里,粘接的主要流程就完成了。补泥之后,就是更进一步的打理,然后就是静置待烧,接受下一步更严峻的考验。我在这里给大家分享得尽量详细,以期陶友们能直观地了解紫陶壶的粘接过程。但是,当我回想收集素材时的每一个场景、每一个步骤,再来看这些文字,仍然觉得这些文字描述的过程显得简单,无法传递那一份手工的温度。
