在道教里,长老是门派中的支柱,德深艺高者为长老;在门派里,长老地位仅次于帮主教主,更有一些帮派众长老的威望在帮主之上;在建水紫陶里,长老匠艺精湛,有他们在,大家心里就有底,他们走上台,就镇得住场面。

In Taoism, the elders are the mainstay of the sect, and those with deep morality and high skill are the elders. In the sect, the status of the elders is second only to the leader of the sect, and some sect elders have more prestige than the leader. 当代建水紫陶里,有这样的四位长老,他们是:陈绍康、谭之凡、袁应德、马成林。

There are four elders in contemporary Jianshui purple pottery: Chen Shaokang, Tan Zhifan, Yuan Yingde and Ma Chenglin.

一、陈绍康  建水紫陶国家级非遗传人

1、 Chen Shaokang, national intangible cultural heritage inheritor of Jianshui purple pottery

现年77岁的陈绍康仍然坚持创作,提到建水紫陶,首先就会想到他,他是建水紫陶永远绕不开的一个人。

The 83 year old Chen Shaokang still insists on creating. When it comes to Jianshui purple pottery, you will first think of him. He is a person who can never get around Jianshui purple pottery.

13岁时,陈绍康就随父亲学习制陶,从此与建水紫陶结下一生的缘分。因为父亲的悉心教导,因为自己的刻苦努力,他几年后练就了扎实的手工制陶功底,能书会画,善于雕刻设计,谙熟一整套建水紫陶的制作工艺流程。

At the age of 13, Chen Shaokang began to learn pottery with his father. From then on, he had a lifelong relationship with Jianshui purple pottery. Because of his father’s careful teaching and his hard work, he developed a solid foundation of hand-made pottery several years later. He was good at calligraphy and painting, good at carving and design, and was familiar with a complete set of production process of Jianshui purple pottery.

在建水工艺美术陶厂担任技术副厂长期间,他对建水紫陶做了一定的创新。其设计制作的紫、黑、白、黄陶器作品,吸取了古今陶瓷艺术和青铜器造型的精华;制作时先在陶坯上书画、雕刻,然后用各色泥料镶嵌成色彩斑斓的书画篆刻图案;烧成后,再用特殊的工艺磨光,使作品光可鉴人,达到了新奇古美的境界,有较高的欣赏和收藏价值。

因此,陈绍康膝下的两男两女,均在年少时就继承了紫陶艺术。大儿子陈俊是省书法家协会会员、省美术家协会会员、云南省工艺美术师。小儿子陈沛开了制陶厂,女儿在紫陶壶嘴和壶把的粘接工艺上,是把好手。 

Therefore, Chen Shaokang’s two men and women under the knee, both inherited the purple pottery art when they were young. Chen Jun, the eldest son, is a member of the provincial Calligrapher Association, a member of the Provincial Artists Association and a craftsman in Yunnan Province. 二、谭之凡  向氏传人有大师

2、 Tan Zhifan: a master of Xiang’s descendants

1973年,23岁的谭之凡投身于建水工艺美术陶事业,其恩师是誉满滇内外的老艺人向逢春之子向福功。

In 1973, at the age of 23, Tan Zhifan devoted himself to the ceramic industry of Jianshui arts and crafts. His teacher was Xiang Fugong, the son of Xiang Fengchun, an old artist well-known both in Yunnan and abroad.

向福功(1919年-1987年)自幼随父习陶,从事拉坯,装饰,雕刻等工作。“书画和装饰得父亲和王定一等名家的真传,积众之所长,且独创自己的艺术风格。

Xiang Fugong (1919-1987) studied pottery with his father when he was young, engaged in casting, decoration, carving and other work. “Calligraphy, painting and decoration are the true biographies of famous masters such as his father and Wang Dingyi. They have accumulated the strong points of many people and created their own artistic style.

三十余年来,谭之凡醉心于建水紫陶工艺美术的探索,练就了非常深厚的功底。他对对建水紫陶的设计造型,装饰,书画均有较高的造诣。其书法善行草,所画梅,兰,竹,菊自成风格。

Over the past 30 years, Tan Zhifan has been absorbed in the exploration of Jianshui purple pottery arts and crafts, and has developed a very profound foundation. He has high attainments in the design, modeling, decoration, calligraphy and painting of Jianshui purple pottery. His calligraphy is good at grass. His paintings of plum, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum have their own style.

三、袁应德  天赋悟性的紫陶巨匠

3、 Yuan Yingde: a gifted and intelligent purple pottery master

1948年,袁应德生于建水,在很小的时候,即表现出对建水紫陶工艺的天赋悟性。

Yuan Yingde was born in Jianshui in 1948. At a very young age, he showed a natural understanding of Jianshui purple pottery.

13岁时,家人将他送到建水陶器厂学习建水紫陶的制作技艺,得到向福功的亲传。

At the age of 13, his family sent him to Jianshui pottery factory to learn how to make Jianshui purple pottery, and was passed on to Fugong.

经过五年的拜师学艺,18岁时的袁应德在制陶手艺上就展现出了非凡的天赋。制泥、拉坯、雕刻、烧制,所有工序无所不通。其中以拉坯最为精湛。袁应德也因此成为陶器厂当时重点培养的人才。

After five years of apprenticeship, Yuan Yingde, at the age of 18, showed extraordinary talent in pottery making. Mud making, casting, carving, firing, all processes are omnipotent. Among them, casting is the most exquisite. Therefore, Yuan Yingde became the key talent of the pottery factory at that time.

袁应德也是与建水紫陶相伴了一生,几十年来,他致力于传承延续建水紫陶的传统工艺,始终坚持用成品率极低的“传统土窑”烧制,追求天然偶得的“窑变”色泽,使建水紫陶特别于其它陶类的独特魅力得以展现。

Yuan Yingde has been with Jianshui purple pottery all his life. For decades, he has been committed to inheriting and continuing the traditional craft of Jianshui purple pottery. He has always insisted on firing with “traditional earthen kilns” with extremely low yield rate, pursuing the natural and occasional “kiln change” color, so as to show the unique charm of Jianshui purple pottery, especially other types of pottery.

袁应德的作品造型古朴洗炼,保有“建水紫陶”传统器形的厚重典雅之美,亦有自我个性的流畅通达之神。远观其器造型,线条变化谐美,犹如水墨国画寥寥数笔尽显气势神韵。

Yuan Yingde’s works are simple and refined in shape, which retains the beauty of the traditional “Jianshui purple pottery” and the smooth and accessible spirit of his own personality. From a distance, the shape of its utensils changes harmoniously, just like a few Chinese ink and wash paintings, and a few strokes are full of momentum and charm.

器形美是陶器价值及魅力的首要决定因素,袁应德以此绝技成名,成为建水陶界的拉坯领军人物。其制作的玉兰瓶为建水陶界一绝,拉坯难度甚大,至今能制此瓶者屈指可数;博古瓶古朴大方,造型优美;其作品深受文人雅士、民间收藏家的喜爱。

The beauty of shape is the primary determinant of the value and charm of pottery. Yuan Yingde became famous for his unique skill and became a leader in the field of ceramics in Jianshui. The Magnolia vase made by him is one of the best in Jianshui pottery circles, and it is very difficult to cast. Up to now, only a few of them can make this bottle. The ancient vase is simple and elegant, and its shape is beautiful. Its works are loved by literati and private collectors.

不管时代怎样变化,袁应德是建水紫陶传统工艺的坚定传承者,他说:“用土窑烧出来的陶,各种颜色都不一样,烧出来的茶壶,和用液化气烧出来的茶壶泡茶相比,味道就是两个样,老窑烧出来的茶壶泡出来的水要好喝一些。”

No matter how the times change, Yuan Yingde is a firm inheritor of traditional crafts of Jianshui purple pottery. He said: “the pottery fired from the earthen kiln has different colors. The teapot burned out is two different from the teapot made with liquefied gas. The water made by the teapot from the old kiln is better than that of the teapot made by the old kiln.”

四、马成林  一念执着潜心做陶

4、 Ma Chenglin Yinian devotes himself to making pottery

1986年,由马成林设计、陈绍康制作完成的一件作品–仿青铜台灯被中国工艺美术馆收藏,32岁的马成林一举成名!

In 1986, a work designed by machenglin and made by chenshaokang, imitated bronze table lamp was collected by the Chinese Art Museum of Arts and crafts, and Ma Chenglin, 32, became famous at once!

认识马成林的都知道,他好烟好酒好茶,而且深谙其道:“抽烟是让我停下来休息且想问题;酒可以让我忘掉些东西,让自己兴奋;喝茶是慢慢品生活是享受。 ”

People who know Ma Chenglin well know that he is a good smoker, a good wine and a good tea, and he is familiar with the way: “smoking makes me stop to rest and think about problems; wine can make me forget something and make myself excited; drinking tea is to enjoy life slowly and enjoy life. ”

马成林二十岁进陶厂,这之前他打过铁;能做好吃的饭菜;能设计并制作服装;自学点医术能开药方;懂些风水玄学;能吟诗赋歌;还教过书。

Ma Chenglin entered the pottery factory when he was 20 years old. Before that, he had made iron; he could cook delicious food; he could design and make clothes; he could teach himself some medical skills and prescriptions; he knew some geomantic omen; he could recite poems and songs; he had taught books.

凭着这股子好学精神,在接触建水紫陶后,他在陶艺上也成为一个技艺全面的人。从泥料的选取,一直到烧窑到打磨抛光他无所不能。他是一个窑子最多的人,有气窑、电窑和自己设计制作的“土柴窑”。

With this kind of studious spirit, after contacting with Jianshui purple pottery, he also became a person with comprehensive skills in ceramic art. He can do everything from mud selection to kiln firing to polishing. He has the largest number of kilns, including gas kilns, electric kilns and “earth firewood kilns” designed and manufactured by himself.

马成林醉心于青铜文化、秦汉文化、远古岩画和民族图腾文化,这些在他的作品中的都有体现。

Ma Chenglin is obsessed with bronze culture, Qin and Han culture, ancient rock painting and national totem culture, which are reflected in his works.

在装饰中,马成林采取独特的手法,可谓题材多样,融古炼今。材悠闲品茶、歌舞升平、儿童嬉戏、牛耕马奔、钓鱼自得、老者修身、历史诗词、鸟儿自乐、鹰击长空、鱼儿畅游、山水风景、十二生肖迎新年等等都曾被他表现在作品上。

In the decoration, Ma Chenglin adopts unique techniques, which can be described as a variety of themes, blending the ancient and refining the present. His works include leisurely tea tasting, singing and dancing, children’s playing, cattle farming and horse running, fishing complacency, old people’s self-cultivation, historical poetry, bird’s enjoyment, Eagle attacking the sky, fish swimming, landscape scenery, Chinese Zodiac celebrating the new year, etc.

作为传统的陶产区的陶艺家,马成林的视野是全局的。土生土长的他在传统文化的熏陶下其文化底蕴深厚,又能借鉴西方当代艺术。做陶对他而言,是一种愉快而自信的过程,是内心情感的释放和文化叙述的过程中,他的心与陶同在。

As a traditional ceramic artist, Ma Chenglin’s vision is overall. It’s not easy to explore in a field, but it’s a great feat for a person who is persistent and eventually cultivates himself as an elder. To regard Jianshui purple pottery as a lifelong career is to love Jianshui purple pottery deeply from his bones and blood. They are the “four contemporary elders” of Jianshui purple pottery. They seem to be plain all the way along the way, but how many dark surges and waves are smoothed by their spirit.

跨过荆棘和泥沼,他们至今仍然保持着那份初心,他们有五百年不染一点风霜的笑容,他们是十万八千里也没有尽头但依然跋涉的行者。

Across the thorns and swamps, they still keep the original heart, they have 500 years without a bit of wind and frost smile, they are the one hundred and eight thousand miles also have no end, but still travel.
